it is in a pot and outside .the top froze back last winter. now there are little pony tails coming out of the foot. what happens now. can i cut these pony tails out and repot them or what do you do thanks, elaine. |

You can remove and replant the pups your ponytail palm has produced. Wait until they have each developed their own root systems before carefully pulling them off the parent plant. They are usually removed and potted up in the spring. If the pups have developed roots of their own you can remove them and pot them up now rather than waiting for the spring. Plant each in its own container of potting soil and they will each grow into a mature ponytail palm. Good luck with your project. |
