Pecan weevil adults drill holes in the shell of the pecan and deposit eggs. The eggs hatch into larvae which feed on the nuts. Use Sevin to control the adults, which are active around the third week of August. Repeat sprays at 10 day intervals may be required. More information on the life cycle of these pests can be obtained from your local cooperative extension office: Cooperative Extension, Webb County, 7209 Saunders St. Suite 5, Laredo, Texas 78040 phone (956) 721-2626 or from the following website: http://insects.tamu.edu/extens...
