You wont' need to feed your new trees until new growth appears in the spring. At that time you can broadcast about a cup of granular fertilizer under the canopy of each tree and water it in well. Use a 5-10-10 or other low nitrogen garden fertilizer. I think I would use a tree guard on the trunks of the trees to protect them from critter feeding - at least the first year or two until the bark on the trunk becomes thick and hard. Tree guards are usually perforated plastic and sold in rolls. You can simply unroll the material and wrap it around the trunks of your trees. Best wishes with your new trees.
