Over the hill of our property we have ivy growing for many years. I planted 8 leaf cactus, they're against our wall from the planting box. And now all have white patches, what happen to them, sometimes I water. Did I harm them?

It's difficult to diagnose a problem without seeing it! Dry white spots can indicate sunscald, raised white patches can indicate mealybug or scale insects. Overwatering can cause collapse of the vascular system and result in root rot. Insufficient water can cause cactus to wilt. I hope this information helps you determine just what is going on with your cactus so you can correct the problem. Good luck with your cactus.
