Spring Valley, Ne
Question by ShennyCSeptember 6, 2010
I planted 3 green giants about 6 weeks and another 5 2 weeks ago. Should I begin fertilizing them? When should I put down some mulch? Someone said if you do it before the first freeze rodents can nest in the mulch. |

You can wait until spring to feed your arborvitaes. Fertilizer promotes new growth and it's a little late in the season for that, so spring is the best time to feed your landscape shrubs and trees. I'd wait until after the first frost before applying mulch. Keep it an inch or two away from the main stems of your arborvitaes. Best wishes with your new green giants! |
