Do dutch irises and daffodils need a chill period? I read somewhere that they didn't, but a HomeDepot expert said they did. I'm confused. Please help. Thank you |
The most current research recommends at least a 12 week chilling period for daffodils. While they will bloom without it, the flowers will be smaller and the bulbs will not be as long-lived. The same is true for Dutch Irises. For the most spectacular showing, I'd heed the recommendations of the professionals who did the research. |
