I live in the Philadelphia, PA area and I want to fertilize a new lawn. Should I wait until early fall to do this, or is it safe to do it now? My concern is that we may get a couple more very hot dayws, and I don't want to burn the lawn with the fertilizer.

After your new lawn has been mowed 2-3 times the roots will be strong enough to be able to tolerate a feeding. You can use a "winterizer" fertilizer towards the end of the month or the first week of October. Best wishes with your lawn!
