I bought some 1x6 cedar for a pergola top. I have finally finished. Do I need to treat the Cedar?

You won't need to weatherproof the cedar - it ages well all on its own but if you'd like to stain it to keep it looking new, now's the time to do it. Cedar tends to bleach out over time, but lots of gardeners like the aged appearance. If you want your to look new for many years, waterproofing or staining is a good idea. Glad you've finished your pergola project. Bet there's another project just waiting for your attention! Enjoy.
