I'm using the wrong fertilizer. They need high postassium. Please tell me what to use. They are losing all their leaves. |
Since you want to encourage flowering on your hibiscus you'll want a fertilizer that's low in nitrogen but high in phosphorus and potassium. That translates to a low first number on the fertilizer package (nitrogen) and higher second and third numbers (phosporous and potassium). A 5-10-10 is one such formula. This should be readily available in your local garden center. Overfeeding and/or overwatering can cause leaf drop in hibiscus so be sure you are watering deeply but infrequently and that you feed only once every 6-8 weeks. Best wishes with your hibiscus. |
