For my science fair project i'm seeing how pea plants are affected by caffeine. Do you know anything about this?

I'm not sure anyone has ever done an experiment like this one. Your first step is to give the reasons behind your experiment. What do you think will happen? Do you think caffeine will make them grow faster, since it's a stimulant to people?

Next, get a book from the library to learn about caffeine in general, and another book to learn about peas, and what they need to grow well. Then you can make an educated guess, or "hypothesis," about what you think will happen to the peas "on caffeine." The results of your experiment will either support your hypothesis, or they won't, and you can talk about why you think you got the results you did.

If you need help with your book research, ask your teacher, parent or librarian for their advice. Print out this e-mail and show it to them so they'll know how to guide you. Best of luck!
