I have just finished aerating, overseeding, and fertilizing my yard. My question is shoulld I wait until the new grass seed is growing before I mow it again or is it ok to go ahead and mow? |
Since you won't want to accidentally suck up the ungerminated grass seeds with your mower, wait about a week after overseeding to mow your lawn. By that time the seeds should have germinated and developed a root system that will help anchor them into the soil, and the blades should be too short to be damaged by the mower. By the time the grass blades reach the height of the rest of your lawn, the roots will have deveoped enough to keep your mower from pulling them up out of the ground. |
