|I live in Texas and something is eating on my cannas leaves before they even open. Can you tell me what it is and what to do about it?

|If you don't see insects on the plants themselves, I'd suspect snails or slugs are feasting on them. These pests feed at night and hide during the day so you won't often see them. You can use a product such as the iron based Sluggo. Sprinkle it around your cannas and it will control slugs and snails. Be sure to reapply when the bait is gone. Good luck with your cannas.
