Acer palmatum 'Sango Kaku' is also known as Coral Bark Maple and is known for its striking red bark in the fall and winter. The leaves are mostly green with reddish and pinkish tinges when unfolding, becoming medium green in summer. Sango Kaku is a very attracrtive small to medium size tree. It is on its own root system (not grafted) and you can feed your tree in the spring with a 5-10-10 or similar time release fertilizer. Apply in amounts as recommended on the label, which vary according to the size of the tree. Enjoy your tree!
