I have an iris plant and it bloomed beautifully during the summer and it is blooming again now. I this unusual or a different type of iris?

What you have is a "Remontant" or "Reblooming" Iris. It is a different cultivar than the more commonly grown iris but has the same cultural requirements. Enjoy your iris!
