Why does it take weeks for my tomatoes to ripen? They are getting no more than 5 hr. of sun. Thank you

Temperatures and sunlight will greatly affect the ability of a tomato to ripen. Tomatoes need at least 8 hours of direct sunshine each day; the warmer a tomato fruit is the quicker it will ripen. At this point you'll simply need to be patient. You can harvest nearly ripe tomatoes and take them indoors to ripen if you'd like. Next year be sure to plant your tomatoes in a garden spot that receives all day sunshine.
