Now that summer is almost gone, many stores have garden supplies on sale. I keep driving by a store that has mulch on sale for $1.00 p/bag, (I don't really know how much is in it but it's standard to many) Will that mulch be any good for next spring? If I leave it outside during the winter, will it not be good?

The pre packaged mulch will be fine if you purchase it now and store it for use next spring. You can store it in an unheated garden shed or in the garage, or even stockpile it outdoors in your yard. It will overwinter just fine. Take advantage of the bargain!
