If I am planning on planting corn next year should I put garden soil in my garden now to have to soil age or should I add soil next year?

I'd get the garden bed all ready to plant by adding garden soil now, then covering over the bed with 2-3 inches of compost to help suppress weeds. In the spring you can dig the compost into the soil and plant your corn.
