I want to transplant plugs from one part of my lawn to bald spots in anther part of same lawn. Zone 6b is my region. Can I transplant now early fall, being zoysia starts browning early will it take before winter or should I do it this coming spring. |
I'd go ahead and plant the plugs now. Although the tops of the grass will die down with the first cold snap, the roots will establish themselves during the last few weeks of fall (grass roots will continue to grow as long as the soil temperature is 40F or above). In the spring your zoysia will green up and be ready to spread to fill in those bare spots. |
