We recently cleared many trees from our 2-1/2 acres in order to allow the healthy ones to grow. The weeds also love the new sun. Since a wooded area is in our front yard, we'd like it to look manicured. Is there a dry weed killer that can be spread like dry fertilizer or seed?

There is a pre emergent herbicide you can use that will keep weed seeds from germinating but it won't kill off any existing weeds. You'll need to clear the area of weeds again and then apply a corn gluten based pre emergent such as Preen to keep the weeds from sprouting up again. There are several brands available - check the garden center of your local Home Depot. Be sure to apply according to label directions.
