I have a hybiscus that is about 6 feet tall but rather scrawny looking. Should I prune it to make it fill out? If so, when should I prune? Thank you.

You can prune your hibiscus back now and then again in the spring. Try not to remove more than one third of the shrub during each pruning session. If it is still overgrown by next summer, prune it back by one third again. Pruning will encourage lots of new growth and annual pruning will help it remain thick and bushy. Good luck with your hibiscus.
