Can the fruit pear tree be pollinated by a flowering pear tree?

Ornamental pear trees have sterile flowers (that's why they don't produce fruit) so they won't serve as pollinators for a fruiting pear tree. You'll need two different pear cultivars for cross pollination and both must be fruit bearing trees.
