I am installing lattice work under my deck and I have a holly bush right there and I don't want to move it, my question is if I trim one side of it to put up the lattice will it harm the bush?

Pruning a holly won't harm it at all. Spring is the usual time for pruning but cutting yours back shouldn't hurt it. Since pruning encourages new growth, and that growth won't have time to harden off before winter weather arrives, any new growth that emerges after you've done your pruning will probably die back. In the spring you can prune any winter kill from the shrub. Enjoy your landscape!
