do the newer colors like orange, yellow etc. have the same medicinal properties of the orginal. The hot pink bloom is the original with immune fighting properties-yes?? Also do you know which part of the plant is used? |
The common name for most echinacea species is "purple coneflower". That is a bit of a misnomer as not every echinacea has purple flowers. Echinacea paradoxa has yellow flowers, and the modern echinacea hybrids display a rainbow of colors. Regardless of their names, they still have the same properties. I can't advise you about the use of echinacea but you can visit the following website hosted by the University of Maryland Medical Center to learn more about its medicinal properties (and cautions): http://www.umm.edu/altmed/arti... |
