7 year old redbud tree has grown brown seed pods this year for the first time. Is this unusual? (They are reaLLY UGLY.) Should I do anything? Thanks. Stuart |
It's not unusual for redbuds to develop seed pods. Their presence simply indicates your tree is mature. Yes, they can be ugly. They will turn brown and fall off the tree in late fall or early winter. You'll want to rake them up before spring. If they split open the seeds can fall on the ground and sprout. |
