A physical barrier will be your best defense, or a shallow trench between the two lawns. A 6 inch wide, three inch deep trench that you keep bare of vegetation will alert you to the creeping stolons of St. Augusting. When they try to cross the border, just sever them with the blade of your shovel and remove the offending stem. If you decide to install a physical border, you can use bricks, metal or plastic edging, or concrete scalloped edgers. Best wishes with your lawn.
