Calla lily (zantedeschia) will grow outdoors in the desert. It can be an evergreen perennial unless it is nipped by frost. If so, the tops will die down but will sprout again in the spring. Provide a few hours of morning sunshine but shade during the hot afternoons. Calla lilies like rich, moist soil and will even tolerate some standing water so be sure to keep them well watered. Hope this answers all your questions.
