What product is available to prevent bird seed that falls from feeders onto the ground from growing?

Since there are some ground feeding birds, you'll want to be careful with products you use to keep the seeds from sprouting. I use a corn gluten meal based pre emergent beneath my birdfeeders. The corn gluten meal will prevent seeds from sprouting and it's safe if birds consume it. Look for Concern, Manage, WOW, or Green Light Weed Preventer. Just check the label to make sure it is corn gluten based and it should be safe to use.
