Emerald Green Arborvitae - Knowledgebase Question

8 out of 15 have turned rusty brown. Are they too far gone to bring back and how? They were planed 1 yr ago.Thank you!

Rusty brown usually means the arborvitaes are dead. Try pruning off one of the branches. If it has green tissue, it's still alive and there is hope. If the branch is brown inside instead of green, the plant is dead. If you find green tissue, water them well until the ground freezes and then start watering again in the early spring. With any luck they will recover.
