To trim or not to trim? - Knowledgebase Question

I have a couple maple trees that needs trimmed bad.I understand that dead branches can be trimmed anytime.Can I trim once the leaves fall?

If you prune in the fall while the sap is still flowing, the pruning cuts will bleed. It's better to prune in January if you plan on extensive pruning; February or March is best for light pruning.
