|We live on the backside of our apartment building and our balcony does not get much sun. I want to plant pansies in my flower box but I am worried they will not get enough light. Can I substitute artificial light for the sunlight they won't get?

|Pansies will grow in the shade and will flower nicely for you as long as it is not deep, deep shade. I'd try planting a few (or growing them from seed) to see how they perform for you. I think you'll find they will be happy in natural light and you won't need to supplement with artificial light. Give it a try!
