I need to cut back my peonies but I don't know when to do it. Can you help? |
Peonies will die back on their own when the weather gets cold. When the stems and leaves turn black, prune the foliage off at ground level. Place 2-3 inches of compost or other mulch over the plant to provide insulation from winter weather. In the spring you can rake away the mulch and your peonies will send up healthy new stems and leaves. Best wishes with your peonies. |
