What is the best way to winterize my strawberries in my clay strawberry pot? Thank you for your advice Dee |
Strawberry plants go dormant during the winter months so they won't need much care at all. I'm concerned about your clay pots, though. If they are simple terra cotta, they can crack when exposed to freezing temperatures. If they have a finish or are glazed they should be okay outdoors all winter. You can take the pots into a garage that remains above freezing just to make sure they won't crack in the extreme weather. The strawberry crowns will be happy in the pots all winter long. |
