I have been searching for a Areca Palm for indoor use and coming up with nothing. Are these plants not sold in Arizona?

I can't explain why you are having trouble finding an Areca palm! The Areca Palm, scientific name Dypsis lutescens is a beautiful palm tree from Madagascar. This plant is also known as Butterfly Palm, Yellow Palm, Golden Cane Palm, Madagascar palm and Areca Lutescens. It is a common ornamental in subtropical and tropical regions around the world and is sold as a houseplant nearly everywhere. You might try phoning the various garden centers and ask them to check their houseplant stock. I'm sure you'll find one!
