I got many trees in my garden, they shade and feed on my compost pile. Can I use land scape fabric or wood under the pile to avoid soil contact? Thank you

I'd build a structure or platform out of 2 by 4's then lay hardware cloth (with one-quarter inch spaces) over the top of the wood and tack it down. Then build your compost pile on top of the hardware cloth. This will allow moisture to drain and still keep the compost safe from the roots of your trees.
