Purchased a hanging basket.Clerk stated it was a million bells. No plant tag in any of the baskets. Need care instructions. THANK YOU |
Million Bells is a calibrachoa. It is related to the petunia and the flowers resemble petunias. There are both upright and trailing versions. Sound like in your hanging baskets you have the trailing type of Million Bells. Million Bells need to be watered regularly but overwatering will cause dieback so be sure to allow the top of the soil to dry out between waterings. You can pinch the tips of the stems back to encourage lots of new stems and unbelievable flower production. I would recommend feeding with half strength dilution of a water-soluble 20-20-20 every 2-3 weeks during the growing season. Million Bells is an annual but it has some cold tolerance so it may bloom and grow for you all year around. Place your hanging baskets in a sunny spot and enjoy! |
