Resurrection plants are members of the Amaryllis family and are hardy in USDA zones 5-11. Your zip code places you in zone 6 and you can plant your bulbs now, in the fall. Bbecause of their unusual growth and appearance, they are known as surprise lilies, magic lilies, resurrection lilies and naked lady lilies. Choose a sunny site and amend the planting bed with compost or other organic matter to ensure it drains well. Plant the bulbs 5 to 6 inches deep, and 6 inches apart. Next spring they will sprout foliage and later in the summer they will bloom for you. Enjoy!
