How big should the bulbets on the lily scales be in order for me to take them out of the bag and put them in soil? Right now my bulbets vary in size but the roots are are 2-3 inches long. Also, do you recomend planting them in pots or in trays? Thank you

The root size is more inportant than the size of the scales or the bulblets. Sounds like yours are ready to be potted up. Use pots (they're deeper than trays) and fill them with either potting soil or seed starting media. You want to encourage deep, strong root growth which will help the little bulblets grow large and strong. Good luck with your new little lily plants!
