What is causing my encore azalia to not bloom? |
Encore Azalea's bloom right around Mother's Day (mid-May) and bloom a second time 6-8 weeks after the first flush of blooms. If yours failed to bloom in May and have been in the landscape less than a year it could be that they are suffering a little transplant shock and they should bloom once the roots are well established. If yours have been in your garden for several years and are not blooming, they may need more sunshine than they are receiving or they may need to be fed. Use an acidified Rhododendron/Azalea fertilizer in amounts as recommended on the label. Feed once in spring as the flower buds are just beginning to open. Best wishes with your azaleas. |
