Someone told me that figs contain dead wasps, is this true?

It is possible. Figs are pollinated by tiny wasps. The female has to push her way through a small opening in order to pollinate the flowers inside the developing fig. The opening is so small that she often loses her wings in the process and cannot leave the fig after pollinating the flowers. If this happens, she remains inside the fig and dies.
