Sadly, geraniums are annual plants so they won't winter over outdoors for you. However, you can take them indoors and sit them in a sunny windowsill and they should continue to grow and bloom for you. The mums are perennials and will return next spring if you bury the pots in the ground (to help insulate them from harsh winter weather). An option to burying the pots is to gather together all of the pots and set them into a box lined with fiberglass or styrofoam insulation. When the tops die down, cut them off the plants and then pour styrofoam packing peanuts over the tops of the pots. In the spring you can remove the pots from the box and you should see new stems emerge from the soil. Best wishes with your plants.
