|Spring blooming bulbs need a 12-14 week cold treatment. You can simply store the bulbs in your refrigerator for that length of time then bring them out, plant them in containers and leave them in a warm room. Or, if your garden regularly gets frosty weather in the fall through the spring months you can simply plant the bulbs in containers and set them outdoors where nature will supply the needed cold temperatures. Then bring the containers indoors about 6 weeks before you want them to bloom.
