Will it be okay to plant pansies now that the nights are below freezing?

Pansies tolerate cool weather but the tops of the plants will die if the temperatures drop below freezing. If you mulch over the plants once the tops have died back the roots should remain alive and the plants will sprout again in the spring when the weather warms. Good luck with your pansies.
