Hi, I am zone 8, and what is a good, sweet variety of fig that self pollinates? I need it to be very sweet. I am thinking about purchasing an Alma, or a Peter's Honey. Which one do you recommend? |
Either fig tree will provide sweet fruit but my favorite is Peter's Honey. The Peter's Honey Fig Tree forms a light yellow-green fruit. When totally ripe on the tree, the fig secretes yellow, honey-colored droplets. Peter's honey has a sweet taste and an amber pulp. The tree grows well from zone 7 through 11 and can reach 15-25' in height and width. Enjoy your new fig tree! |
