I am a lemon and orange tree that keep dropping their buds and leaves. Do you recommend those watering globes to keep the water levels consistent? (I'm a new gardener and not so great at keeping on top of watering levels.) Do you think they work and might help me be more consistent? Or are they just a scam? Thanks.

Water globes actually do work. When you place the globes into the potting soil the water will be drawn out of the globe as the soil begins to dry out. You can accomplish the same thing with regular water bottles (although they don't look nearly as attractive as the colorful water globes). You simply sink the neck and shoulders of the water bottle into the soil. As the soil dries out, small amounts of water are wicked out of the bottles to help keep the soil evenly moist.
