Weed killers can be used whenever weeds are actively growing. If they are growing now, you can apply a weed killer; if your lawn is actively growing (rather than dormant), you can use a weed and feed product. Be careful with your choice of products - not all weed killers or weed and feed products are safe to use on all lawn types. Read the label to make sure. In your region you probably grow bermuda or St. Augustine grass. If so, Ortho Weed-B-Gon Weed Killer For Lawns, Southern Ag Lawn Weed Killer with Trimec, Ace Spot Weed Killer, Ortho Basic Solutions Lawn Weed Killer, Bayer Advanced Southern Weed Killer for Lawns and Vigoro Ultra Turf Weed and Feed are all safe for use on Bermuda lawns. Ortho? Weed-B-Gon Weed Killer for St. Augustine Lawns, or Scotts? Bonus S Weed and Feed for Southern Lawns are safe for St. Augustine grass. Best wishes with your lawn.
