Last spring I had a problem with moles/voles digging. I used granular pesiticide and after about 3 applications I think they got the hint. Is ther anything to start doing now to prevent them from digging up the garden?

Moles hang around if there are grubs to eat. Sounds as though you've taken care of the grubs with your pesticide applications. I think they will go elsewhere to feed and you shouldn't have problems with them next year. If you do, you may have to set traps to totally eliminate them. Voles, also called field mice, can be caught with mousetraps baited with peanut butter or bacon. Empty and reset the traps as often as necessary to eliminate the entire population. Best wishes with your landscape!
