You can cover over your rose bush with an insulating blanket or with burlap to help keep the frost off the stems. Or, you can make a cylinder out of chicken wire to place around your rose bush and fill the cylinder with straw, dried leaves, etc. You may still have a little damage, but any damage can be pruned away in early March, just as new growth begins.
