I live in Morgan Hill, CA. zone 8b. I want to plant a privacy screen along the property line. The soil has some clay. Temps. max. 120, temps. low 15. It gets direct sun 6+ hrs. The planting area is narrow. Would like fairly fast growing, low maintenance, height is not an issue.

You can grow Thuja 'Emerald Green', Bottlebrush (Callistemon), Cassia, or Red Tip (Photinia) along your property line for a privacy hedge. All can be pruned to fit into a narrow area. Good luck with your garden!
