Gazania seeds need warmth in order to germinate and they are slow to germinate so don't give up on them! Here's how to start your seeds:
Start your seeds indoors six to eight weeks before your average last frost date of the season. Fill your seed starting trays or pots with seed moistened seed starting mix and plant the seeds about one-quarter of an inch deep. Or, place the seeds on the surface of the seed starting mix and just barely cover them with additional seed starting mix. Cover the tray or pots with plastic wrap and place them in a warm area. The top of a water heater or refrigerator should be warm enough but if you have a seed starting heating cable, you can set your trays or pots on top of the cable to keep the potting soil warm. Check the plants on a daily basis - you want the soil to remain moist but not soggy wet. Remove the plastic wrap when most of the seeds have sprouted and move the trays or pots to a bright location - either under gro-lights or to a sunny windowsill. Continue watering until after the last frost of the season, after which you can plant the seedlings outdoors.

Best wishes with your gazania plants.
