1.When is the best time to trim crepe myrtles?

2. If crepe myrtles have been trimmed in the past do they have to be trimmed each year? I have some small ones I would like to see get a little bigger.

Crape myrtles do not require pruning so if you'd like yours to grow larger, you won't need to prune. They will grow and flower without any pruning at all.

If you decide to prune, Crape myrtles flower on the new growth that is produced that season. Wait until early spring to prune your crape myrtles so you'll encourage new flowering growth. If you lightly prune again, after the flowers are spent, your crape myrtles will reward you with a second flush of bloom later in the summer. Enjoy!
